The main business of the Company is to provide owners representative service to ship owners around the world. Services ranging from New Ship Construction Project Supervision & Management, Crewing Management, Ship’s Commercial Management, Pre-Purchase Inspections, Vessel Condition Assessment and Shipping Agency.
The Company is managed by a team of professionals who has long working experience in ship management; achieving the ISO Quality Management certificate in our core services crew management on 18 November 1997 and New ship building project supervision and management in 2006 marked an important milestone for us, our quality journey had taken us to better customer satisfaction through continuous improvement, and helps us to achieve business excellence.

New Ship Building Project Supervision and Management
We are project managers of various types of vessels ranging from containers, bulk carriers and tankers. We are able to provide customized and versatile services according to owner's individual needs and requirements. Our project teams are marine engineers or ship yard specialists with vast experience in managing the new building project. Each client's new ship is supervised by a dedicated team of experienced professionals, ensuring the construction receives maximum attention to detail possible; to meet the delivery, quality, client, classification and flag administration requirements.
Crewing Management
Crew operating expenses takes up nearly 40-50% of ship's operating cost on ship owners. It is very important to recruit and retain dedicated, well trained and experienced officers and crew to safeguard owner’s investment. In association with our manning agency Norseman Company Inc. Philippines, we are able to provide qualified and experienced officers and crew to meet the MLC, STCW and ship Owners' requirements. The cordial relationship and trust between ship owners and Norwest has been building on well. The tri-lateral relationships among Norwest, owner, and ship’s staff have given added confidence to the ship owners.
Ship Owner Representative
- Conduct inspection to verify vessel’s condition.
- Source & assess ship yard for vessel’s dry docking at owner’s request
- Provide technical consultant service to ship owners as and when required.
Pre-Purchase Inspection
We perform pre-purchase inspection and vessel evaluation on behalf of buyers and ship brokers. After the inspection, a brief report will be emailed to the client within 36 hours. A full inspection report, complete with documents and photographs, will be delivered to the client by email &/or courier service. We also perform budget and cost analysis for the client to make procurement decision of the vessel.
Ship Agency
Norwest Shipping Agencies Pte. Ltd. performs ship agency duties for vessel calling Singapore. We provide ship's husbanding service of all vessel types for our customers. Our Technical department, working closely with the Operations department, provide technical expertise to back up our agency services should ship owner requires additional assistance. We are capable of handling all owner's matter such as crew change, ship's store and spare parts delivery, repair and service arrangement, cash to Master, medical arrangement, classification or flag state audit and survey arrangement, and other matters. We are the one-stop service centre for customers and look after all the husbanding needs of their vessel calling Singapore.
